Remember this pretty yellow background? It's my absolute favourite. But the branch was bugging me as is... so I collaged some paper "bark" & added even more texture with molding paste.

While I was waiting for steps to dry, I started on a new piece. Why not? The first steps are the most fun because they're also the most free. I don't try to think about composition or what I want the final piece to look like - I just glue away.

For this piece, I chose collage material in blue hues. Then I added some molding paste for even more texture.

After looking at it a while & deciding where I want to go with it, I flipped it around. I love changing perspective like this! It makes it easier to move onto the next step, not worrying about covering the initial collage.

I'm glad I went with a "d" - it easily flipped into a "p" & I know just the word to make with it.

Next step: paint. And maybe a bit more collage. I think I'm going to get started on that right now!

I really like the texture of the 'webbing' on the first :)
very cool, I like both of them. I love branches and leaves, my mom has a branch watercolor that I have wanted to steal for decades lol. I still haven't dipped into the collage art much yet but still want to.
