This book is sort of like an easy scrapbook - instead of making elaborate page layouts recording moments of your life, you just smash in some mementos, keepsakes & day-to-day scraps that you don't want to throw out. There are a few different books to choose from - I went with the "simple orange" one. It's filled with simple page designs, including lots of grid paper & a few with words or designs.

Some fun instructions on a little piece of vellum greets you when you first open the book.

Since I've been quite obsessed with orange lately, I used a colour swatch to brighten up the first page.

Here's my first spread:

The first page records my dinner from last night - lucky for me, we went to Chuck's, the best burger place in town - perfect start for my book!

I may have to add a little something behind here... just haven't figured out what yet.

The second page is dedicated to the cookbook I got in the mail yesterday. I won it through an awesome blog - I thought the thank you card was worth keeping.

You may have noticed the journaling tags I used - they were perfect: one for best places to eat & another for great blogs. They all came from this booklet of "entertaining" tags. There are a bunch of different SMASH pads like this, as well as some other fun materials to use in the SMASH books (or really any journal).

As you can see, there's also a handy pocket on the back inside cover & a look to hold the pen/glue stick. It also came wrapped in a plastic cover that can protect the outside & pen while still allowing access to the inside.
All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase! I'm really looking forward to collecting more scraps to smash in here. I will certainly be getting another once this one is full!
