I had a craving for chocolate chip cookies this weekend.
OK. Fine. I had a craving for chocolate chip cookie dough - but I had to bake some of it because I can't eat it all raw (raw eggs & all). Plus, I just felt like baking. Here's the recipe we're using:

From the back of a package of these:

Simple, easy & extremely tasty! I used milk chocolate chips because that's what I had, but regular dark chocolate chips are probably even better. I also made a variation on the same recipe with some toffee bits - but I'll post about that later. First:
Chocolate Chip CookiesIngredients:2/3 cup butter
2 cups lightly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp hot water
2 & 2/3 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 package (270g) of chocolate chips
Methods:1. Preheat oven to 375F.
2. Melt the butter.

Until it's a pool of sunshine:

Then combine the butter, brown sugar, eggs & hot water.
Mmmmm, brown sugar.
Mix it well.
3. Add the flour, baking powder, baking soda & salt.

Beat it until it's well mixed. Use your muscles.

4. Fold in the chocolate chips.

Yum. Try not to eat all the dough.

5. Drop small spoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet & bake for 8-10 minutes.

Mine took about 10min and were perfectly soft & moist. Cook them a bit longer if you prefer crisp cookies.

The recipe says it'll make 5 dozen ... but I made 40 cookies. I don't think I ate 20 cookies worth of dough! I find cookie recipes often end up calling for way more than I make ... maybe my servings are a little generous - these cookies aren't all that big though...

What they are is
delicious! Make yourself a batch tonight - you won't be disappointed (and they're super easy)!
Enjoy!
